Performance Improvement Program (PIP)

The Performance Improvement Program (PIP) is for an underperforming employee whose performance is below average and needs remarkable improvement.

General rules and guidelines for implementation:

  • If an employee is not improving his or her performance even after giving timely feedback, then the line manager will give a written warning to that employee. He or she will monitor the employee’s performance and if there is no desired improvement seen then the line manager will put that employee under PIP
  • The duration of time given to an employee to perform better is 1 month
  • During this period, the employee is given tasks to perform and his or her performance will be monitored closely
  • On the basis of the performance, his or her line manager will decide the next step
  • If the performance “meets expectations” then that employee will be put out of the PIP. But if the performance is not up to the mark then he or she will be released from his or her services
  • An employee cannot be put under PIP within 3 months of his or her confirmation on WisdmLabs’ payroll
