We want our employees to take time off, recharge, and take care of their health and personal life. To support this, we offer Special Leave as a small extra reward for employees who actively use their paid time off during the year and maintain a healthy work–life balance.
Special Leave is an additional 2 days of paid leave credited in the next leave year to eligible employees who have fully utilized their regular leave entitlement in the current year.
Eligibility Criteria
An employee will be eligible for 2 days of Special Leave in the next leave year if all the below conditions are met:
- The employee has used 100% of their allotted Casual Leave & Vacation Leave for that leave year.
- The employee has used at least 8 Privilege Leaves in that same leave year.
- The employee is actively on the rolls of the company when the Special Leave is credited in the next year.
How Special Leave is Earned & Credited
- The HR team will review each employee’s annual leave usage at the end of the leave year.
- Employees who meet the eligibility criteria will have 2 days of Special Leave credited to the “Optional Holiday” category in the first month of the new leave year.
Validity & Usage Rules
- Special Leave is valid only for the leave year in which it is credited. It cannot be carried forward to the next year.
- Special Leave is not encashable under any circumstances.
Special Leave can be clubbed with Casual Leave, Privilege Leave or weekly offs as per the normal leave rules, subject to manager approval and business requirements.
